Cleveland, Ohio- Cleveland Metropolitan School District students and staff will join the nation in observing a moment of silence today at 11 a.m. President Barack Obama has asked that all Americans observe a moment of silence to honor the victims of this weekend’s mass shooting in Arizona where six people were killed and 14 others were injured.
District officials will also carry out the president’s proclamation calling for flags to be flown at half-staff. “A brief moment of silence will allow us to take pause from our daily activities to remember those that were affected by this tragedy,” said Christine Fowler-Mack, Chief of Staff [or Eric Gordon, CMSD Chief Academic Officer]l. “As a nation, we all share in the shock and disbelief of Saturday’s events, and our hearts and prayers are with the families and individuals that were impacted by this senseless act of violence.”
